BBQ Beef Ribs in a Slow Cooker

3 lbs / 1.5 kg beef ribs, trimmed of fat
salt / pepper to taste
2 medium onions diced
1 tbsp / 15 ml soy sauce
1 cup / 250 ml BBQ sauce
2 tbsp / 30 ml white vinegar
2 tbsp / 30 ml molasses or sugar
Cooking steps
- Heat cooking oil in a frying pan.
- Add the ribs and brown on all sides.
- Drain the ribs and place them in a 5 L/5 quart slow cooker.
- Mix all other ingredients except the onion in a bowl.
- Stir in the onion and pour the mixture over the ribs.
- Cover and cook on Low for 8-10 hours or on High for 4-5 hours.
