1 ½ pounds/ 700 g beef round steak, cut ¼ inch/ 0.5 cm thick
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1 small clove garlic, crushed in a garlic press
2 teaspoons instant minced onion
½ teaspoon salt
few grains cayenne pepper
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground celery seed
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
½ cup strong beef broth
Cooking steps
- Cut steak into 2 x ½ strips
- Brown the steak in butter in a large skillet.
- Turn browned meat into an electric cooker and add remaining ingredients, stir.
- Cover and cook on Low 6 – 8 hours.
- Serve on Hot fluffy rice.
