Top tip: This corned beef dinner is great served with a white sauce poured over the top!

Corned Beef Dinner in a Slow Cooker

- Initial ingredients
1 x 3 1/3 lbs / 1.5 kg corned beef
2 cups boiling water
2 whole cloves
1 tbsp / 15 ml brown sugar
1 bay leaf
¼ tsp / 1ml pepper
- Remaining ingredients
4 medium potatoes, peeled and cut into chunks
5 medium carrots, cut into chunks
2 medium onions, diced
1 small cabbage cut into approx 8 wedges
Cooking steps
- Stir the first 5 ingredients together in a bowl.
- Pour the liquid mixture into a 6 Litre slow cooker, then add the corned beef.
- Add the remaining 4 ingredients.
- Cover.
- Cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours or on High for 5 – 6 hours.
- Discard bay leaf before serving.
