Ingredients

  • 2 ½ lbs / 1.1 kg lean pork cut into cubes

  • 1 tbs soy sauce

  • ½ cup white vinegar

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1 ¼ cups water

  • 1/3 cup water extra

  • ¼ cup corn flour

Cooking steps

  • Place the pork in the slow cooker
  • Mix the brown sugar and the 1 ¼ cups of water into a bowl, then add the vinegar and soy sauce
  • Stir and pour the sauce over the pork
  • Put the lid on the slow cooker and cook on Low for approximately 8-10 hours
  • Switch to High for 4-5 hours
  • Remove any fat which has accumulated during cooking
  • Stir second quantity of water and corn flour together in a small bowl, then add to the slow cooker
  • Cook on High for 15 to 20 more minutes to thicken
  • Serve with rice
